1. Catahoula Recreation Off-Road Park
If you’re looking to go off-roading at any time of the year, the Catahoula Recreation Off-Road Park is open during every season. However, if you were looking to take your ATV there, you’re out of luck because the only vehicles supported there are:
- Side by sides
- Dirt bikes
- SUVs
Catahoula Recreation Off-Road Park covers an area of 320 acres that includes 10 miles of trails at an elevation of 150 to 200 feet. There are a few areas where you can go camping; however, nighttime driving is prohibited.
In terms of the terrain, the track is great for rock crawling, mud running, and hill-climbing. Surrounded by beautiful, dense woods, this trail is great to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

2. Tower Trax ATV Recreation Park
We have a treat for all the ATV lovers out there! Tower Trax ATV Recreation Park is solely for ATVs, dirt bikes, and modified jeeps, and remains open all year round. It spans over 2,600 acres of land and covers 40 miles of trails and hosts competitions that off-roaders can take part in to showcase their skill.
The park has separate trails for beginners and children to ensure family-friendly fun for everyone. Anyone who wants to venture out on the trail at night can take an appointment from the park management for a surreal experience.

At Trax ATV Recreation Park, visitors can rent out their barebones cabins, enjoy at campsites, and reserve RV hook-ups. For anyone who wants to be closer to nature, they can rent tents for camping too!
3. Highlifter Proving Grounds
The Highlifter Proving Grounds are open on the weekends for off-road enthusiasts to enjoy throughout the year. There are multiple membership options at the park that allow individuals to get exactly what they are looking for and offer free entry to children under the age of 6 for quality family time.
With 25 miles of trails over 570 acres of land, the park is open to ATVs, dirt bikes, and UTVs and comprises of a motocross track, 4 mud pits, and 4 large water ponds. There are recreational activities at the park, such as camping with campfires, RV campgrounds, and a list of hotels near the park.
4. Loran Trailhead
For an authentic wildlife experience, you should consider heading over to the Loran Trailhead located near Forest Hill, LA, with your ATVs and motorcycles. Amenities such as toilets are available at the trail. However, be wary as there is no water there, so you have to make arrangements for it beforehand.
The trail is mostly hard-packed with plenty of shade from the forest around the tracks, making it perfect for novice riders. There are around 74 miles of trails for riders to experience, along with free access to campgrounds that come with a picnic table.
You should call before venturing out there because the trail is closed during harsh weather conditions.
5. Kisatchie National Forest
Another natural trail for OHVs is the Kisatchie National Forest, where you can pick from 5 ranger districts. The forest is located southwest of Alexandria and features outdoor activities like picnicking, hunting, hiking, bicycling, fishing, camping, and horse riding. The forest offers over 100 miles of trails on about 600,000 acres of protected land for many outdoor activities.
The forest is home to the 36-mile Sandstone trail that offers challenging terrain, a white shoreline, and beautiful views of the forest.

6. Louisiana Mudfest
Swing by to the Lousiana Mudfest, just outside the town of Colfax, LA, for some good old mudslinging. With over 300 acres of land, there’s a lot to do here. Visitors can go to the Mudcat Saloon to grab drinks, rent out campers that offer all basic amenities.

7. Plaquemines Off-Road Park
Near Belle Chasse, LA, you can find the Plaquemines Off-Road Park. This 300-acre park comprises of 15 miles of trails surrounded by the woods, and a motocross track for a quick adrenaline rush. The park is open every day throughout the year, except for when weather conditions are too risky for visitors to drive on.
The vehicles that you can use here include ATVs, UTVs, SXS, and dirt bikes.
8. Bonnet Carre Spillway
The Bonnet Carre Spillway contains floods and diverts water from the Mississippi River to Lake Pontchartrain. Located in St. Charles Parish, LA, the Spillway is home to many recreational activities, including 2 ATV tracks.
9. Cow Bayou ATV Park
Venture out to the eastern shore of the Toledo Bend Reservoir to find 7 miles of pine woods in the Cow Bayou ATV park, that are perfect to go off-road. The park is full of mud puddles and deep-water crossings for off-road enthusiasts and is ideal for anyone with any sort of off-roader all year round.
10. Juderman’s ATV Park
Juderman’s ATV Park is located near Pineville, LA, and encompasses 200 acres of land with 5 miles of marked wood trails. You can do many things here, including riding through bogs, pits, and deep-water crossings.
Although the park is only open from Fridays to Sundays, weekday riding is possible if you make bookings in advance. The vehicles permitted in the park include dirt bikes, ATVs, UTVs, SXS, and dune buggies. The track mainly comprises of mud and loose dirt and is an excellent place for novice and amateurs to brush up their off-roading skills.

Head over to Mount Hermon over the weekend to Silver Creek Campground. This ATV park offers fun for the whole family with free entry for toddlers who are 2 years old and lesser, camping cabins and trailers, fishing, and seasonal swimming.
